“Human Capital Development vs. Raw Materials Specialization: Russian Case”

On April 7 – 9, 2009, at the HSE there was the annual scientific conference on development problems in economy and society.

As a part of the program of the X^th International Scientific Conference on Development Problems in Economy and Society, R. Nureev chaired the Session on “Concept for Long-Term Social and Economic Development of the Russian Federation: View from the Regions”. Among the spokesmen there were M. Kurbatov, S. Levin, Y. Zweynert, T. Gareev, I. Pyzhev, and Yu. Latov.

On March 25 – 26, in Madrid there was the Conference on “The Role of Europe in the International Arena: Views from the Central and Eastern European Countries”.

The Conference was organized by Wladimir Andreff (Paris University 1 Pantheon Sorbonne) and Fernando Luengo (Complutense University of Madrid).

Among the participants there were scientists from Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Great Britain, Hungary, Poland, Estonia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Russia.

On May 4 – 7, 2009, there was a master class in Development Economics for teachers and professors from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Bugulma, Almetyevsk, Chistopol, Zelenodolsk, and Novocheboksarsk held at the facilities of the biggest private higher school in Tatarstan – the Institute of Economics, Management and Law in the city of Kazan.

On October 9 – 11, 2009, R. Nureev read his lecture cycle titles Institutional Environment of the Russian Business at I. Kant Russian State University in Kaliningrad.

On November 25, 2009, Rustem Nureev spoke with his report titled Reserves for Institutional Development as a Prerequisite for Recovery from the Crisis at the 7^th International Scientific Conference on “Problems of Modern Economics and Institutional Theory” held by the International Association for Institutional Studies at Dnepropetrovsk University of Economics and Law.
